Topics of research work :

(1)  Ultrathin films: ultrathin metal/semiconductor, ultrathin oxides, high-density storage materials.
(2)

 Magnetic interfaces: magnetic metal/semiconductor, ferromagnet/antiferromagnet (FM/AFM) interfaces, perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) materials.
(3) Nanostructures: self-assembly, nano-scale structures, in UHV and in EC environments.

Low-dimensional systems: quantum dots, nanowire, and interfaces of spintronics devices, (collaborated with Prof. Y.D. Yao, in Academia Sinica).

You will learn :

(1) Ultrahigh vacuum techniques
(2) Preparation of nano-scale films: MBE, EC, and ion sputtering.
(3) Characterization of material properties: SMOKE, AES, TDS, XPS, UPS, CV, LEED, RHEED, STM, AFM.
